Hoffman Estates, IL
Hoffman Estates is a village and a suburb of Chicago, situated about 25 miles northwest of the Loop, bordering Schaumburg. It covers almost 21 square miles of land mostly in Cook County, home to a population of roughly 51,000 people under its motto, “Growing to Greatness.”
The village was incorporated in 1959 shortly after the opening of the Northwest Tollway, as the community gained residential appeal for Chicago commuters. The Prairie Stone Business Park began development in the 1990s and spans 780 acres. Hoffman Estates today serves as the headquarters for Sears and the Midwest base for AT&T. Many Japanese companies have their U.S. headquarters in Hoffman Estates as well. The Sears Centre is an 11,000-seat, multi-purpose arena located within the village, home of the Chicago Bliss and the Windy City Bulls.
