Hanover Park, IL
The village of Hanover Park is a suburb of Chicago, stretching across Cook and DuPage Counties northwest of the Loop. Known as “America’s Global Village,” Hanover Park covers 6.3 square miles of land to the south and west of Schaumburg, home to a population of close to 38,000 people.
The village includes a small neighborhood called Ontarioville, which got electricity for the first time in 1923, followed by the opening in 1929 of the two-room Ontarioville School. Hanover Park was incorporated in 1958, and the community’s first village hall was soon constructed. The population then grew with extensive residential development throughout the 1960s and 70s. Now in the 21st century, Hanover Park has built Veteran’s Memorial Plaza and a sports complex, while more recently launching a new logo after more than 30 years.
